Paul Allen Thompson is an accomplished financial expert with a proven track record of success in problem-solving, providing guidance and improving business performance across various scales. As a strategic leader and advisor with a growth mindset, Paul serves as a sentinel of financial operations, risk management and controls. Throughout his extensive career of over three decades, Paul has demonstrated proficiency in finance and risk management by holding multiple leadership positions.

Currently, Paul serves as Controller for Bancorp 34, Inc. where he is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and safety & soundness of the bank. Prior to this role, Paul served as Chief Accounting Officer for American Credit Acceptance. He was responsible for ensuring the integrity and governance of the underlying books and records of and delivering U.S. GAAP and management financial reporting.

Prior to this role, Paul led American Express Company’s Global Banking Controllership function. He served as Banking Officer and Controller for American Express Centurion Bank, American Express Bank, FSB, and American Express Banking Corporation. During his tenure at American Express Company, Paul also led the Global Reporting & Consolidations organization. He held several leadership roles across Controllership, including SEC reporting, Ameriprise Spin-off, and Oracle Implementations. Prior to joining American Express, Paul gained extensive experience working with U.S. Banking and consumer finance clients at Ernst & Young LLP's financial services practice.

In addition to Feuji’s Advisory Board, Paul also serves on the Board of Directors and Finance & Audit Committee of The Weilenmann School of Discovery. Prior Board seats include The Children’s Center and Wasatch Venture Fund II & Wasatch Venture Fund III.

Paul is a CPA and CGMA. He holds a BA in Economics from Pomona College, an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business and is IFRS certified.
