Skill Development

The Feuji Foundation hopes to empower India's youth with the tools necessary to support themselves and their families. According to McKinsey, the education and training ecosystem in India is not yet reflective of the changing needs of the industry and many educated job seekers are at the risk of being unemployed due to a lack of skills.

In 2012, Manohar Reddy began building the Rayalaseema Skill Development Center, a village-based counseling and training center, to train the youth for employment and higher education. The center would provide career counseling, education support, and basic skills training to help young people explore their options for future employment. The center later became the Parvathi Ramakrishna Reddy Society for Rural Employment (Reg. No. 548 of 2016).

The center organizes community workshops, literacy classes, and computer training programs to help villagers become self-sufficient. The center achieved greater heights by conducting a mega job fair in association with Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA) on the 3rd of July 2018. This helped connect the rural youth with key companies. The center experienced a whopping participation of about 1,500 students from in and around the village. These jobseekers found the job fair extremely convenient to get jobs matching their skillset.

A temple of knowledge, this center was designed to fortify the idea of ‘learn, earn and return’. The center serves as a catalyst for sharing knowledge and transferring skills. The center not only helps the villagers to up-skill themselves but also helps provide white-collar jobs to families living below the poverty line. This spearheads social transformation by diminishing patriarchy and breaking stereotypes.

Today, the center is a sprawling state-of-the-art 20,000 square feet facility on a 4-acre campus which has become the hub to provide hands-on training programs in the IT, non-IT, and trade sectors.
