Medical Care and Nutrition
Feuji, the brand created by Manohar Reddy has achieved enormous success in a short span of time. After establishing Feuji, Manohar Reddy took his social responsibilities to a new level by adopting the village S. Uppalapadu under the Smart Village program. The contribution of money from Manohar Reddy and Sekhar Kammula, a popular Telugu movie director, was used to construct a local health care center in the village.
Good nutrition leads to better education and is vital for the development of a healthy mind and body. With no proper diet and without any food security, the undernourished children in the village were at a considerable risk of falling ill and compromising their health and education. With a motive to provide a balanced diet to all the students at all government schools in the village, it was decided to replace the 1-rupee rice provided by the government with better quality rice, dal, rasam, sambar, buttermilk, and eggs at least twice a week.
Our mission is to provide healthy and nutritious lunches with an aim to help better educate children. To this end, Manohar Reddy and his friends contributed 3 lakh rupees to improve the quality of the mid-day meals.
Soon after the successful completion of one academic year with a total strength of 60 students in the school, the word about our project spread in the village and in the neighboring villages. The strength doubled for the next academic year, 2017-2018, and a total of 135 students were enrolled in the school.
This health care center provides much-needed medical care to the residents. Because of this health center, there has been a steep decline in infant and maternal mortality rates in the village and the surrounding areas.
