According to Gartner, water will become the most valuable asset of the global economy’s financial systems because of the irreversible potable water shortage. Global water demands are expected to increase in the future because of increasing population, urbanization, and industrialization. In addition, climate change and anticipated increases in extreme weather events are expected to contribute to increase in the frequency, severity, and duration of droughts which can exacerbate water availability problems.

It is difficult to imagine our lives without running water, but in India, there are several villages that do not have this luxury. To address this problem, we collaborated with the government and local families in the village to construct soak pits in every house, and increased awareness about rainwater harvesting.

In many rural areas of India, power supply is erratic, and several villages are yet to be connected to the power grid. After persistent efforts and persuasion, we were able to bring 24-hour power supply to the village. Manohar Reddy contributed 1.5 lakh rupees to arrange 130 LED bulbs in the village. These LED bulbs consume 60% less power than conventional light bulbs and hence conserve energy.
