Sudipta Bhattacharya has been with the Adani Group since 2012 and is currently the Group’s CEO for North America Operations. Prior to this role, he was the CEO of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest multi-port operator and logistic company.
Before joining the Adani Group, he was the CEO of the Invensys' Safety, Control and Software business that had 20,000 employees spread over 50 countries. Invensys was later acquired by Schneider Electric..
Sudipta has also headed SAP as Senior Vice President. In this role, he was responsible for making investment choices that helped SAP become a global market leader. He has also worked for a decade with the Tata Group in India managing chemical plant operations, engineering projects, and supply chain operations.
Having served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce, Sudipta chaired its Technology and Innovation Council for the period 2011-2012. In March 2011, he was named Minority Business Leader of the Year by the Dallas Business Journal. In June 2011, Ernst & Young named him a finalist in its 2011 annual Entrepreneur of the Year competition.
He has also been a former Vice Chairman of the Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA), a standards board focused on improving manufacturing operations through effective application of technology. He has served as an Advisory Board Member for the University of Texas, Dallas School of Management’s Centre for Intelligent Supply Networks.
Sudipta’s focus has always been to make manufacturers more productive. He has done his MS in Chemical Engineering and MBA in Finance and Operations Management from the University of Cincinnati.
